Dr. Roa received a Bachelor of Science in Health and Human Physiology from the University of Iowa. She then moved to Chicago where she obtained her Doctorate in Optometry from the Illinois College of Optometry. From there she completed a residency in ocular disease and primary care at the Illinois College of Optometry. She also has fulfilled the necessary requirements to be recognized as a Fellow of the American Academy of Optometry. During her education, she received specialized experience in ocular disease, specialty contact lenses, pediatrics, and urgent care triage and management. Her clinical rotations included a Veteran’s Affairs hospital, co management of ocular surgeries, and management of advanced ocular diseases.
While in Optometry school she received clinical honors and was selected for an accelerated clinic program. She was also chosen to be a member of the Gold Key Optometric Honor Society. Dr. Roa was an active member of many academic and community-involvement clubs including the SVOSH service club, an organization dedicated to international vision mission trips. She’s also a proud member of the American Optometric Association and Colorado Optometric Association.
Dr. Roa and her husband moved to Colorado in 2021 and have greatly enjoyed all that Colorado has to offer. On the weekends they like to explore new hiking locations, local coffee shops, and unique restaurants. They recently welcomed a baby girl and are excited to start this next adventure of parenthood.
She has a passion for helping others and is looking forward to serving the Louisville community.
