Dr. Sarah Lewis attended Northern Arizona University where she received her Bachelor’s degree in Microbiology and Chemistry. She continued her education at Johns Hopkins University, where she earned a Master’s degree in Biotechnology. While finishing her Master’s degree, Dr. Lewis re-discovered her interest in optometry and moved to California to attend the University of California Berkeley School of Optometry.
As a student, Dr. Lewis volunteered for humanitarian eye care trips to Nicaragua and Thailand. As part of her clinical internships, she received specialty training in the management of cataracts, dry eyes, diabetic eye diseases, and glaucoma as well as pediatric eye care.
After obtaining her Doctor of Optometry degree with clinical, academic and research honors in 2009, Dr Lewis completed an additional residency program in ocular disease management and primary eye care at the Albuquerque VA Hospital in New Mexico. After completing her residency, Dr. Lewis moved to Colorado to settle with her family.
Dr. Lewis joined Front Range Eye Health Center in 2013. She has been published in several scientific journals, is an active member in the American Optometric Association and Colorado Optometric Association, and was chosen as the 2015 Colorado Young Optometrist of the Year. In her free time, Dr. Lewis enjoys spending time with her husband, two kids, and her two fur babies.
